lyrics

Your life is short and violent
You'll soon die off in silence
The sands of time erode your voice
And you have no choice
Your line and your legacy will fade
In the war and sex and poverty cavalcade
Can you possibly transcend your mortality
Lest you cease to be?
Build castles and walls and towers so tall
They block the winter, rain and sunshine
Write and craft up your name, so despite any change
One part of you will stay the same

Life captured in stone
We sit on our thrones, forever great
But what happens when we reach the end
And submit to fate?

And all ain't made to last
The Earth keeps turning fast
You'll peek your head above the wall
And find that you missed it all
Humans and their gods and nature are all at odds
We long for stasis out of entropy
We write and craft up our names, so despite any change
One part of us will stay the same
